Induction game idea

Mood board:

for my mood board I have decided to go for a minimal and simple approach to my character design. My ideas are that I want a paper styled game, with the characters and maps made out of origami or any type of paper based material.
I really like the idea of the paper aeroplanes to be used in the game as it adds a complex element through the physics and tracking the object in the map. I also like the idea of the character getting origami powerups to help defeat the opponent as it adds randomness and unexpected events, adding to the fun of the game.

Controls:
The 2 player controls that I propose to use is completely keyboard based, crating a squished and almost hectic scrambles to use the correct keys at different times to help boost your character to get the edge over your opponent.
These are the controls that I decided to use as they are very easy and intuitive to use and are easy to distinguish them from apart from each other. Additionally I have added the different usage buttons on the keyboard, keeping in mind that keys are in different placing on other keyboards so used major keys for controls.

Level design:
For my level design i will take some inspiration from the game "Drive Ahead!". I really like their level design on the game as they have many unique maps with many different factors that you can use to your advantage to win the game. I like the idea of ,after a certain time frame, there will be a "sudden death" that is picked at random or that fits the theme of the map. This could include things like meteorites falling from the sky, a water or lava rise, a gravity change that gets stronger over time ect.

Another idea for level design is adding different objects that spawn randomly in the map that may hinder or worsen your attacks on your opponent. This could include exploding paper aeroplanes, bouncy paper shuriken's, your attack arm turning into a shield for one blow ect. This will add a sense of randomness to games, making them more enjoyable and engaging to play.

Physics type:
The game will include many different types of projectiles and different types of gravity regarding the map theme for example on the maps that are in space the gravity will be more/less than other maps themed on earth.
The projectiles that I am thinking of incorporating are paper aeroplanes, paper shuriken and other miscellaneous paper items to be used to highlight the use of physics in the game.
Another way the physics will be referenced is when controlling your character to try and get to vantage points over your opponent like getting the high ground or power ups in hard to reach areas of the 2d maps.

Art style:
The art theme I am going for is very minimalistic, as the characters are made out of origami so are very over simplified as the aim is to not be to realistic due to the goofy and silly game theme. I am aiming for this game to have a bendy and the ink machine type of style while also adding a paper Mario type simplicity to the games art style.
I think the mix of bendy and the ink machines exaggerated darks and lights on the textures of the map will mix really well with the colourful and single toned style of paper Mario.

Here are some first designs of the characters, over time I will change their designs so they are more distinguished from one another. To make them easy to distinguish from one another, i made them opposite colours, red and cyan. This is to avoid any colour confusion with the characters so that the player knows where they are by quick glances.
