Making the Non Violent Weapon in Blender

Image
Designing my gun on blender The first thing that I did on the design of my non violent weapon was adding in image reference of the orthographic drawing to help me model the weapon by using shift a: image, unticking align to view and selecting the right image. I then went into object data properties and selected the right display side so that it is invisible from viewing behind the picture. This will be very helpful as it will help me get the right proportions on the design. I then added a square and stretched it out into the base layer of the weapon, this will be used as the reload mechanism of the gun, as I will animate at the final touches of this non violent weapon project. I then mirrored this to get the perfect shape. Next, I then created the barrel of the gun, sticking closely to the designs of the weapon. I really like on this part of the design, are the curves i added as it nicely contrasts with the bottom reload of the gun's clean lines. This makes the barrel of the gun p...

Orthographic Drawing Gun

Orthographic Drawing This orthographic drawing is of the final development that I have chosen to make into a 3d model. To do this I have made the orthographic drawing to help me design the 3d model as it brings out the different angles to develop the gun into a full design. Doing the orthographic drawing has helped me also figure out some more of the angles that I couldn't cover from the initial drawing that I did on the developments and first design.

Skull art practice

Image
For our lesson we were tasked to draw a skull through the aid of a reference image using many new skills to do this. I first started with a base layer of the skull, trying to get the silhouette of the skull shape, then building up layers of colours, going to darker tones first. This included the skull eyes sockets, but I didn't use a pure black colour as that is a quite unrealistic colour so had a hint of the skull to create the realistic picture. I then worked my way through the different dark tones to get colours for which I will shade together later on in the process. to help me keep in the lines of what I just drew on the skull, i used the shortcut ctrl alt g which keeps your drawing in between the lines.  Once I had finished the darker tones I moved onto the highlights of the skull which bright the colours together. when I finished putting down all the colours I wanted to blend, i moved onto ...

Weapon Development

Weapons Development Analysis Top Right Design: This was the first development of the gun that I chose to further develop. In the development I decided to add more details to the gun to make it more interesting to look at, adding a chamber to give it a more classic appearance as the weapons are based in the future. I additionally changed the base colour of the barrel of the gun as using the darker palette gives the gun a stealthier appearance. I also like the red highlights that I put on the chamber as it gives great contrast. Bottom Right Design: This was was the second development that I made. In this design i was trying to bring in design 4 into it as when I showed my initial ideas, that gun was quite a well rated design. Basing my ideas on that design I also tried to implement the current design to the development. I like the shape of the handheld part of the gun as it uses nice curves. Another thing I like on this gun is the part where you can cock the gun located on the top ba...

Non violent weapon drawings

Non Violent weapons evaluation Design 1: On the first design that I drew on photoshop I decided to go with a red and grey colour scheme as I thought that the colours would go well together. I like the red highlights that go through the gun, especially the red parts at the front and the round, red highlight. I imagined the black frame around the circle to spin round when the gun is shooting simulating the charging of the projectile stun. I also really liked the frame of the gun as it is small like a pistol, but the barrel is longer than a typical pistol. I additionally like the leather styled handheld part of the gun as it brings more colour into the design. One thing I will changer in future models is the base colour of the gun as I don't think grey will be the best base colour and also to make the gun to have a more varying design as I think the gun looks quite boxy and rudimentary. Design 2: My second design I think looks like a ...

Chase yourself production

Production: Producing the short 'chase yourself' film was quite a challenge, introducing me to many new areas that I hadn't covered on premier pro before. This was quite a fun movie to edit as it included two of myself using new techniques. I started by importing all the different shots I took for the film and edited them down and deleted the recordings that I didn't need. This helped me filter down what areas I needed to change and edit in the clips. After cutting down all the clips that I was going to use in the film, I decided to focus on the clone of myself, implementing the use of a mask to mask off part of the video and feathering the mask so it is hard to see where the masking has taken place. Once I had finishing editing the clips, I decided to add some atmosphere to the clips, opting for a bluer filter as this is widely used in horror genre as it adds an unsettling feeling. I additionally used a vignett...

Pre and post production documents

This is the shot list that I came up with to help me structure the story and follow when I was recording. This helped a lot as it helped me to speed up the process of recording the story, preventing more lost time in recording e.g. the weather changing or light intensity changing. The location and risk assessment documents. The location scouting helped quite a lot as finding the right place to shoot the short story brings the right mood into the recording.  This is the Gantt chart that I filled out after recording the short story, so filled out the order of the tasks that I completed which then shows how my time management was used throughout the project. This is the storyboard that I filled out before the recording production, which also helped me imagine in my head what I was going to do when recording the short story as having a visual idea as well as the shot list helped a lot.
